She'll play a "honey voiced pirate radio DJ".

Batwoman and Jane The Virgin star Bridget Regan is joining the cast of upcoming Supernatural prequel series The Winchesters.

According to The Wrap, Regan will play the recurring role of rising DJ Rockin' Roxy. Her character synopsis reads: "A honey-voiced pirate radio DJ, Rockin' Roxy is hijacking the airwaves of Lawrence, Kansas to broadcast a wicked new sound. Behind the mic, she's got an electric charm and a rapidly growing fanbase. But as our heroes will sadly learn, Roxy's listeners aren't all of the human variety."

Regan is perhaps best known for her roles as flame-haired scientist Posion Ivy in Batwoman and her regular appearances as drug lord Rose Solano in comedy-drama Jane the Virgin.

The actress has also played former Black Widow assassin Dottie Underwood in Marvel's Agent Carter series and con artist Rebecca Lowe/Rachel Turner in White Collar.

Bringing back Jensen Ackles' Dean Winchester as its narrator, The Winchesters promises to chronicle "the epic, untold love story of how John [Winchester] met [his wife] Mary and how they put it all on the line to not only save their love, but the entire world".

As shown in the trailer, the series kicks off in the year 1972 when Mary (played by Meg Donnelly) and John (Drake Rodger) meet. After saving his life from an encounter with demons, Mary reluctantly introduces John to her demon-hunting friends and their supernatural world.

"After Supernatural wrapped its 15th season, we knew it wasn't over. Because like we say in the show, 'Nothing ever really ends, does it?'," Ackles previously said of the spin-off.

"When Danneel and I formed Chaos Machine Productions, we knew the first story we wanted to tell was the story of John and Mary Winchester, or rather the Supernatural origin story. I always felt like my character, Dean, would have wanted to know more about his parents' relationship and how it came to be."

The Winchesters premieres October 11 on The CW.
