Jose Altuve will wear a microphone for an in-game conversation and interview this week during the Astros' appearance on Sunday Night Baseball against the White Sox, ESPN announced on Friday.

Altuve is the latest on a lengthy list of superstar players who've worn in-game microphones this season during ESPN telecasts. New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor wore one in May and Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout did it last week.

FRIDAY STREAMING: Friday's Astros-White Sox game isn't on TV. Here's how to watch it.

During his conversation, Trout revealed Houston third baseman Alex Bregman won the fantasy football championship of the infamous league that resulted in Tommy Pham slapping Joc Pederson for alleged rules violations.

Altuve will chat with ESPN's three-man broadcast booth of Karl Ravech, David Cone and Eduardo Pérez. Pérez was Altuve's bench coach during the 2013 season.

Chandler Rome joined the Houston Chronicle in 2018 to cover the Astros after spending one year in Tuscaloosa covering Alabama football - during which Nick Saban asked if he attended college. He did, at LSU, where he covered the Tigers baseball team for nearly four years. He covered most of the Astros' 2015 playoff run, too, as an intern for MLB.com
