A pornstar and famous video gamer has broken her back in two places after jumping into a foam pit at a live-streamed event.

Adriana Chechik was at Twitchcon, a gaming convention in the US city of San Diego, on Saturday when she was taking part in a gladiator-style battle above a foam pit.

The aim was to knock your opponent off the platform into the foam pit below, and the 30-year-old won — but her celebration went horrifically wrong.

After jumping up and down in excitement, she launched herself into the air and performed a cheerleader’s toe-touch before crashing into the foam pit on her tailbone.

While the foam might’ve looked soft, the pit was only three cubes deep with a rubber mat at the bottom, according to local media.

As Ms Chechik winces in pain, someone asks: “Are you good?”, to which she shakes her head.

Rolling over onto her stomach she tells staff she “can’t get out”, as the host on the microphone calls out for a medic.

A video of the incident uploaded by another gamer has been viewed more than 10 million times on Twitter, with the poster describing the clip as “the most painful thing I’ve seen in a while”.

Taking to her own Twitter page, Ms Chechik confirmed her injuries and said she was due for surgery later that day.

Well, I broke my back in two places and am getting surgery to put a meter rod in for support today. Send your support. When it rains it pours and I am definitely feeling the rain right now.

Incredibly, Ms Chechik was not the only person injured in the foam pit during the event.

Another streamer, known as LochVaness, injured herself in almost identical circumstances after jumping off the platform in celebration of her win.

"Once I had jumped off and my foot hit the bottom and my ankle rolled, and then my kneecap was on the side," she told NBC News.

"I couldn't move ... I had almost passed out if it wasn't for one of the staff guys calming me down."

All participants were required to sign waivers before battling in the foam pit, the outlet reported.

China had yet to release previously scheduled trade data for September by the close of the business day on Friday, in a rare and unexplained lapse. The data had been expected to show China's export growth softened further from August, weighed down by weakening global demand, while its imports remained tepid. The General Administration of Customs was scheduled to release September's export and import statistics on Friday along with data for the entire third quarter, according to its 2022 data release timetable on its website.
