Of course, he can't be serious.

An MTA manager claimed that an inflatable doll riding a shotgun in his Kia Telluride was "for the company" - rather than bypassing HOV restrictions as his colleagues suspected.

Giulio Divirgilio, the head of the MTA bus department, entered his Brooklyn office building early on Wednesday morning. The bombed dummy plopped and sat in the front seat, just like the "Otto Pilot" in the 1980 comedy "Plane!" "Same.

Speaking to The Post outside the East New York building, Di Vigilio denied that he was dragging the sports businessman in an inflatable suit illegally cruising in the lane reserved for high-passenger vehicles.

"I don't use it for HOV," insisted the government official with an annual income of $122,000. "I use it for the company."

When asked if the specific purpose of this dummy is really to deceive HOV, Divirgilio replied: "Have I deceived you?"

According to his colleagues, the answer is likely to be yes.

"When we saw that thing [in his car] in the morning, it felt strange. Besides doing HOV stuff, why would anyone do it there?" said a bus employee who requested anonymity.

A union official said: "The manager is indecent. We laughed, but what secret does he have that we don't know?"

MTA stated that they are investigating this plastic partner.

According to sources, Divirgilio is a former New York Police Department police officer who has worked for the MTA for more than ten years.

Inflatable dolls and other dummies are common tactics used by contempt people who want to bypass the HOV rules. A doll named "Carpool Kenny" similar to Divirgilio can be purchased online for $15.79-although the Wall Street Journal reported in 2019 that the police are trying to combat this widespread plan.

In 2019, two such people were caught mannequins in cars in New York, one in Brooklyn and the other in Long Island. Both men were stopped by the police. They suspected that they were doing some interesting business after they found the fake passenger through the windshield.

Both allegedly tried to disguise their mannequins with baseball caps and hoodies.

According to the city government’s records, Divirgilio had two parking violations in January and March so far this year, both because of driving without a previous license. The front board is not there on Wednesday.
